General Directions for Use
PROGINICIN™ is typically indicated at the end of dental procedures. Apply PROGINICIN™ drops directly to the affected area. Do not use cotton gauze or swabs to apply or wipe off excess product. Use enough to cover affected area and leave for 2 minutes. After applying PROGINICIN™, patient may spit but do not rinse. PROGINICIN™ may be swallowed incidental to treatment without known negative reaction or side-effects.
Instruct patient not to drink for 30 minutes post operatively. Instruct patient not to drink caffeinated beverages, eat, brush on affected area or use toothpaste for 4 hours. PROGINICIN™ may be sent home with a patient to be reapplied as directed to help reduce pain, inflammation, infection and to speed healing.
Sutures- After bleeding is stopped, apply 2 to 3 drops of PROGINICIN™ directly to the suture site. Allow PROGINICIN™ to penetrate area for 2 minutes and close suture. After suturing, apply 2 to 3 drops to sutures and allow to penetrate for 2 minutes. Patient may spit but do not rinse. See General Directions for Use above for additional directions.
Extractions- After bleeding is stopped, apply 2 to 3 drops of PROGINICIN™ directly to the extraction site. Allow PROGINICIN™ to penetrate extraction site for 2 minutes. Patient may spit but do not rinse PROGINICIN™. See General Directions for Use above for additional directions.
Gingivitis- After scaling and debridement, PROGINICIN™ should be applied directly to the affected gingival margin. Allow PROGINICIN™ to penetrate affected area for 2 minutes. Patient may be instructed to gently brush affected area with 3-4 drops of PROGINICIN™ on super-soft bristle toothbrush three times a day for three days. Cold Sores- Pre-eruption- At first sign of cold sore (typically a localized tingling sensation in the lip), apply 1 to 2 drops of PROGINICIN™ on the lip and gently massage for 10-20 seconds. Allow PROGINICIN™ to penetrate area for 2 minutes. Do not rinse PROGINICIN™ off lips or apply lip balm or lipstick for at least 30 minutes. Repeat every 4 hours to ensure PROGINICIN™ has penetrated the surface of the lip. See General Directions for Use above for additional directions.
Cold Sores- Post-Eruption If eruption has already occurred, apply 1 or 2 drops of PROGINICIN™ directly on the blistered area and very gently massage for 10-20 seconds. It is not necessary to tear or open the blister. Allow PROGINICIN™ to penetrate area for 2 minutes and repeat. Do not rinse PROGINICIN™ from lips or apply lip balm or lipstick for at least 30 minutes. Repeat procedure after two hours and every 6-8 hours thereafter to ensure PROGINICIN™ has penetrated the blistered area. See General Directions for Use above for additional directions.
